Permaculture
While some may never have heard about permaculture, those who did get introduced to this concept often only associate it with gardening. But in fact this is only a fraction of what it entails. The definition I like to use is that permaculture is a collection of all knowledge worldwide and from all times, to make a regenerative and fossil free culture possible.

Permaculture therefore is not something 'new', invented by the Western mind. A lot of the tools have roots in ancient indigenous practices from all over the planet. As a permaculture passionist, I try to integrate it in everything I do, by keeping in mind the 3 fundamental ethics:

Earth care reminds us that our choices affect living and nonliving systems beyond our scope. We should always opt for what is helping them thrive the most and what does the least harm.

People care reminds us that we as humanity are all brothers and sisters and should take care of each other as such: our choices should help al humans to flourish to their fullest potential; that no-one should suffer or live an enslaved life for someone else's greeds.

Fair share or future care reminds us to divide our earth's resources according to everyone's needs rather than greeds, and to handle them with respect towards both our ancestors who provided them and to future generations after us.

Neohumanism

Neohumanism was brought into the world by the Indian philosopher P.R.Sarkar in the '80 of our last century.

It is based on Universalism: the idea that everything; all living and nonliving matter, is related to each other. We are all descendants of the same source. Not only our physical bodies, but also our mental bodies and spiritual ones. They all started to form at the beginning of the universe.

Neohumanism wants us to remind ourselves of our oneness. The goal is to realize one human family and eventually universal fraternity. If we are all the same in our essence, why do we create so many artificial divisions between each other, causing many beings to suffer for the benefit of just a few?

Neohumanism is not just a philosophy but a practice. It should be our collective effort to help all beings to realize their fullest potential physically, mentally and spiritually.

How to live our lives everyday, in such a way that we can practice universal fraternity? It is not easy, but simple and powerful. By reminding ourselves constantly that love is the essence that binds us, is the essence of all.
